NEW Grape NEWS

Press Release- June 12, 2008/Freehold, NJ

Grape Beginnings is pleased to announce the exclusive availability of ultra-premium wine grapes from Oak Knoll (Napa Valley), Alexander Valley (Sonoma County), Suisun Valley, Mendocino, Sierra Foothills, and Santa Cruz Mountains.  "We have secured exclusive agreements, through our grape growers in California, to obtain some of the finest wine grapes in the world", said Frank D'Aponte Winemaker and Co-owner of Grape Beginnings Winemaking Center.  "It's nice that we can source these special grapes for our customers.  Some of these grapes will not be available to any other wineries outside California."

Grape Beginnings operates a 5,000 square foot winery in historic Freehold, New Jersey.  The winemakers at Grape Beginnings lead wine enthusiasts through the winemaking process using fresh wine grapes.  Their customers learn to Crush and Destem grapes, Press the crushed grapes (or Must), Rack their wine, and then (about 9-10 months later) finally Bottle their creation.  Of course, finishing off their creation with their own personalized label.  Each session runs about 1 to 1 1/2 hours long and the process starts in September for the California Grape Season and in April for the South American Grape Season.  It is the perfect way for the wine lover to have fun and share their passion for wine with family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers.

 When speaking about this exclusive grape offering, winemaker and co-owner Rich Trawinski said,  "There's an opportunity here to make some nice juicy, classy Merlots, Petit Syrahs, and big bold Cabernets, all of which can be aged long term for greater enjoyment.  These will be the caliber of wines that can cost upwards of $40 retail, and our customers here at Grape Beginnings will make them for a fraction of that".

Most red grape varietals are available for this special offering including: Cabernet, Merlot, Syrah, Zinfndel, Petit Syrah, Sangiovese, and Barbara. These grapes are available in limited quantities, so customers are asked to put in their orders early.
